For Me!

I believe this is actually the first thing I have knitted my adult self. (Oops, except for socks!) Is the color out of fashion already? I don't care, I'm wearing it. I really liked this pattern. Simple (= can knit while watching tv) but somewhat elegant.

The alpaca actually does itch my neck, but I figure I'm not going to be wearing it on bare skin.

Pattern: Double Eyelet Rib Scarf, from The Little Box of Scarves
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk #07 (Celery). Four skeins.
Needles: US 8
Method: Cast on 30 stitches. About 60" long.

I love it!! I don't think the color is out at all. It's wonderful!

I'm a bit worried that my current shawl/scarf is going to be scratchy. It's very nice to work with, but I keep hearing stuff about alpaca. Ah well, hopefully it also won't be worn against the skin.

Nick's red scarf is alpaca and as long as it's cold enough, it doesn't bother him. (Alas, it's been plenty cold lately.) When it warms up, it's too scratchy .. for what it's worth.

I'm so glad you finally made something for YOU. Now you need to start that sweater.

Thanks for the comment on my blog--and the good question! The yarn I used for my Mock Crocs was Rowan Yorkshire Tweed 4-ply.
What a gorgeous scarf! I love knitting in alpaca, but no matter how lovely and soft it feels in my hands, it always seems too scratchy for my skin. *sigh* But it's definitely warm! :)
